Finding Nourishment and Hope
Tonya and her husband both work hard to make ends meet and provide for their children. Despite their efforts, they recently experienced food insecurity for the first time. She learned about the Community Food Center – Jonesboro from a friend and has been coming bi-monthly to receive assistance ever since.
The Community Food Center – Jonesboro serves 155+ households each day. The need continues to grow, and we are seeing more neighbors turn to the Atlanta Community Food Bank for support.
“I’m able to provide healthy meals for my family. I love when we receive fresh produce, meats, and eggs,” Tonya shared.
She explained that she’s never received this kind of support before. When her husband’s work slows down, their household income isn’t always enough to cover all their needs.
“I can choose only what we need, and that allows me to save money for rent, my baby’s formula, and diapers,” she said.
Tonya expressed her gratitude to donors and the staff who assisted her during each visit. “Their support means more than they know,” she added.
