1. Introduction

The Atlanta Community Food Bank (the “Food Bank,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who visit our website at acfb.org (the “Site”) or interact with us online. This Privacy Notice explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, the technologies we use to personalize your experience, and the choices and rights available to you.

This Privacy Notice applies to information collected through the Site. It does not apply to information we may collect offline or through other channels, which may be addressed in a separate notice.

2. Information We Collect

When you make a donation, register for a program, or otherwise engage with us online, we collect personally identifiable information directly from you, including names, addresses, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, and payment information. We also use this and other information to personalize your experience on the Site, as described below.

We also collect information about how visitors interact with the Site, including pages visited, links clicked, donation activity, and other engagement data. This information may be collected through cookies, analytics tools, and similar technologies, as described in Section 4 below.

In addition, we may derive or infer information about visitors based on their interactions with the Site or from other data sources available to us. This may include general location (such as ZIP code), device or browser type, and prior engagement or giving history. We use this information, among other things, to personalize website content.

We may also use technologies that help us recognize visitors across sessions and devices in order to provide a more consistent and relevant experience.

The Food Bank is the owner of the information collected on the Site. We do not sell donor information. We may share information with trusted service providers who support our operations, as described in Section 5 below.

3. How We Use the Information We Collect

We use personally identifiable information collected through the Site to process and fulfill online donations. We may also use this information to personalize your experience on the Site, including tailoring donation amounts, content, and messaging based on your interactions with the Site or your prior engagement with the Food Bank.

We may use this information to send you further information about the Food Bank and its upcoming events, programs, and projects. These communications may be informed by your donation history, website activity, or other engagement data.

Non-personally identifiable information may be used in aggregate form to analyze usage of the Site and to improve site design, content, and user experience.

We do not disclose the information we collect to third parties except as described in Section 2 and 5, or in response to a valid legal claim or law enforcement request.

4. Cookies, Analytics, and Personalization Technologies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality, to analyze site usage, and to personalize content and donation experiences, including through a cookieless personalization layer that uses signals such as prior giving history, general location, and device or browser information to tailor the donation experience presented to you.

We do not log or store IP addresses.

You can control or reject cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may limit some Site features. Where we use analytics or personalization technologies, we configure them to limit the personal information collected consistent with this Notice.

We apply appropriate technical safeguards, proportionate to risk, to the information described in this Notice, including information processed through our analytics and personalization technologies.
