Donate With Cryptocurrency

We are excited to now offer cryptocurrency giving as an additional option for our donors. Donating cryptocurrency can bring you tax benefits while providing food to families, children, and seniors in need.

Much like stocks and mutual funds, cryptocurrency is an appreciable asset. This type of gift can be especially appealing if you are holding Bitcoin, Ethereum, or any other commonly traded cryptocurrency that may have appreciated significantly in value. If you, first, cashed that asset into dollars before making a donation, this would create a tax expectation on your capital gains. However, making a cryptocurrency gift directly to the Food Bank means your full contribution is tax-deductible at the immediate current valuation in US Dollars, and your philanthropy goes to work faster in fighting hunger across metro Atlanta and north Georgia. Please consult your tax professional.

How To Donate Crypto

Donating cryptocurrency to Atlanta Community Food Bank is easy using the simple and secure tool from The Giving Block. Make your donation in three easy steps:

  1. Select any coin that Atlanta Community Food Bank accepts for donations and enter a donation amount.
  2. Provide your information, including name, zip code, and state OR choose to donate anonymously.
  3. Donate from your wallet using the address that is provided to you.

All cryptocurrency donations are nonrefundable. As these donations are often immediately converted into fiat, Atlanta Community Food Bank does not offer refunds on any donations that are made in cryptocurrency. The Food Bank is not able to give refunds if you changed your mind, sent the wrong cryptocurrency, or made the wrong decision. The Food Bank does not, has not, and will never offer any form of cryptocurrency airdrop, goods, or services in return for a donation. Please only send the exact cryptocurrency listed on the blockchain mentioned on the widget. Do not send any other cryptocurrencies (including layer 2, wrapped tokens, NFTs or other ERC-20 tokens not listed) as these are unsupported and may result in loss of donation.
