Tis the Season for Events and Giving


The holiday season is always packed with family get-togethers, holiday parties and more. Of course, you have to have some fun for yourself. There are a few things happening this holiday season that are sure to please.

Tinsel & Twine Pop-Up - December 8 & 14
Join Santa and Mrs. Claus for photos in a playfully decorated holiday pop-up shop at the Westside Provisions District. You can enjoy roving carolers, stuff your stockings with goodies from a one-of-a-kind stocking bar, and get in some holiday shopping. Bring along your canned goods and monetary donations to drop off for the Food Bank at any of these locations:

  • The breezeway by Star Provisions
  • Taqueria del Sol
  • Bungalow Classic
  • The breezeway by Room & Board
  • White Provision Residences Lobby at 1100 Howell Mill Road
  • White Provision parking garage levels one through three, by the elevators
  • Inside the Tinsel & Twine pop-up space across the corridor from Perrine’s Wine
  • West Egg Café

Power 96.1 Jingle Ball Concert - December 12
How would you like to meet Justin Bieber, or Enrique Iglesias, or Flo Rida, or upgrade your concert seats to the first fifteen rows! For just $1, you have an opportunity to one of these exciting experiences. Just attend Power 96.1's Jingle Ball concert and purchase a $1 raffle ticket at the arena's entry gates. Winners will be notified from the stage that night and must be present to win. All raffle proceeds will benefit the Food Bank and support our efforts to fight hunger.

Yacht Rock Holiday Special - December 15
Bring canned goods or donate funds to help the Food Bank during Yacht Rock's annual holiday party at Variety Playhouse. A jolly time will be had by all! P.S. - They're also releasing their new CD!

Larry, Carols & Mo! - December 17
Enjoy the annual holiday organ concert and sing-along at the Fox Theatre. You'll also get to see the movie "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," take a photo with Santa, frolic in the snow inside and outside the theater, and make a donation to the Food Bank and Toys For Tots.

Grab and Give at Whole Foods - now until December 14
Help the hungry when you're shopping at Whole Foods. Choose a $5 or $10 pre-packed bag of food for donation to the Atlanta Community Food Bank at metro Atlanta Whole Foods Markets.

Kroger CAN Hunger - now until December 24
Still have to pick up some food for that holiday party? Metro area Kroger stores make it easy to give through their annual CAN Hunger food drive. Just choose a $1, $3 or $5 icon and donate at the register. Kroger will deliver truckloads of food in the new year!
