Our partner agencies’ budgets are tight, yet the need to feed more people is growing. In an effort to better meet the needs of low-income families in our 29 county service area, ACFB began an exciting initiative called the Mobile Food Pantry program. Each time the Food Bank hosts a Mobile Pantry, we deliver 7,000 to 10,000 pounds of food to a pre-designated ACFB partner agency. That’s enough food to feed 200 households. The food is distributed the same day as it is delivered.
Our mobile pantries are needed now more than ever. A lot of our agencies don't have the ability to store a lot of food at their locations. The Mobile Pantry program also allows the Food Bank to reach out to underserved and more rural areas. We’re excited to watch this program grow and share more stories with you in the future!
