
Tracking Volunteers for the VITA Program
In an effort to ensure that working families have access to all of the economic supports for which they are eligible, the Atlanta Community Food Bank offers FREE tax preparation to working individuals and families earning $49,000 or less at over 45 sites from January - April. These locations are completely staffed by volunteers.
This volunteer position is responsible for providing marketing and volunteer database management to the VITA Program Manager and Assistant for approximately 5-10 hours a week from mid-January 2012 to mid-April 2012.
Locations: (one volunteer will be needed for each area)
Area 1-Douglas, Paulding, Carroll
Area 2-Cobb, Cherokee
Area 3-Gwinnett, North DeKalb, North Fulton
Area 4-South DeKalb, Newton, Rockdale
Area 5-South Fulton, Henry, Clayton
Dates: Mostly Saturdays, mid-January 2012 through mid-April. This is a four month commitment.
Times: flexible. This task should take 5-10 hours per week but must be done on a weekly basis
Position Description: Volunteers will be responsible for maintaining marketing supplies at VITA sites and other targeted locations as well as collecting volunteer data from each service area and reporting to ACFB on a weekly basis.
Age requirements: 18 years and older.
Skills Needed: Volunteer must have a car and be able to travel weekly to service area to deliver supplies and ensure that all volunteer data is collected. Pleasant, friendly demeanor and attention to detail required. Volunteers in this position will need to form good working relationships with VITA site coordinators.
Benefits: Volunteers will be reimbursed for mileage.
