Our Special Event volunteers work some of the premiere social and food security events in the Metro Atlanta Area, including Taste of the Nation, Can Can Ball, and of course, the annual Hunger Walk. In addition to special events, the Atlanta Prosperity Campaign provides opportunities for volunteers to provide valuable assistance to those most in need in our community.

Upcoming Special Events and Opportunities:

Collect food and funds at The Gathering, 2/23/Thursday

The Gathering is a charity event held by the Georgia Chapter of Meeting Planners International to benefit Atlanta’s Table.  More information on this event can be found at  http://gampi.org/displaycommon.cfm?an=1&subarticlenbr=355.

Atlanta’s Table is a project of the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Since 1987, Atlanta's Table has been collecting prepared perishable food from our local hospitality industry and delivering this food to more than 40 Metro Atlanta nonprofit partner agencies daily. Restaurants, caterers, corporate dining rooms, hotels, convention centers, special events and other food service providers are among the more than 200 hospitality industry donors that regularly contribute prepared food. Approximately 40,000 pounds of food every month is distributed every month through this project. In 2011, The Gathering raised over $10,000 for Atlanta’ Table.

Volunteers are needed to work the silent auction and to take tickets, and to support as greeters, coat checkers and event floaters to help where/when needed.
