Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation has become a great Atlanta tradition with the help of some of Atlanta’s most prominent chefs and restaurateurs. These industry leaders have shown they can truly impact a social issue by working together, turning a small idea to help fight childhood hunger into one of Atlanta’s preeminent fundraising events in the city. And this Thursday evening, April 11, they’ll be back in action at the Georgia Aquarium.
What’s special about this year? For one thing, the event is celebrating its 25th anniversary! As always, guests will enjoy the best in Atlanta cuisine as 50 top chefs prepare their specialty dishes for tasting. Distinguished guests include Honorary Chairs John Mariani, food and travel columnist for Esquire magazine, and Governor Nathan Deal and First Lady Sandra Deal. They will be joined by Share Our Strength Founder and CEO Billy Shore and Co-Founder Debbie Shore. Event Chairs Pano Karatassos and George McKerrow have once again done an amazing job bringing Atlanta’s hospitality community together for such an important cause.
Last year, over $786,000 was raised to help end childhood hunger. One hundred percent of the net proceeds from this year’s Taste of the Nation will benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank, Genesis, A New Life and Share Our Strength’s Cooking Matters Georgia.
