It's hard to believe, but Hunger Walk/Run is THIS Sunday! We've had nothing but Hunger Walk on our minds the last couple of weeks. It's been really fun and exciting to see all the parts and pieces come together to help make this event a blast. For example, this year's Hunger Walk/Run will have...
… both a Sodexo Event Foods- service area (with great food- burgers, hotdogs, salads, chips, beverages) as well as the new addition of a few very popularfood trucks: Yumbii, Ibiza Bites, The Pickle and King of Pops, out selling tasty morsels as well!
… the Nationwide NASCAR “show car” and race experience on-site… with a fun interactive race simulator and enter-to-win games.
… a great kids play zone with educational activities (ACFB learning game- “Feast or Famine”) and inflatable jumping houses, games, educational activities, face painting and more!
….There will also be some great in-park roaming entertainment provided by the Imperial OPA Circus troupe: jugglers, stilt walkers, tumblers, hula-hoopers, face painters and more!
…throughout the day (noon-4pm) there will be local radio and TV personalities hosting the stage entertainment… and DJ Bigg H, from Crowd Control Mobile DJ’s spinning music from 12-2pm.
...Get Fit Atlanta will be hosting the stretching and warm-ups prior to the walk/run with interactive trainers on-stage, getting people warmed up and moving.
…on the music stage/in-park, the live band- Sounds of Essence will perform from 2-4pm.
…all the sponsors tents/areas (Walmart, Hall Booth Smith & Slover, Georgia Power, AutoTrader.com, FreshPoint, AmericasMart, Marriott, Coca-Cola, Scoutmob and Nationwide Insurance), media tents, radio activation “fun activities”, some local sports team mascots and all the benefiting partners tents/areas.
…along the walk/run route we’ll have a variety of entertainment to keep folks moving and grooving, including live music, percussion troupes, dancers, DJ’s, jugglers and more!
There's still time for everyone to sign up and join us. Online registration will remain open until Friday at noon. If you miss out on signing up online, you can also register the day of at the event. Don't forget too--Daylight Saving Time starts Sunday, so be sure to "spring forward" your clocks the night before! If you are also social media inclined, follow us on Facebook!
