What is Kids In Need?

The Kids In Need program provides school supplies to teachers in low-income schools by inviting them to shop in our climate controlled Kids in Need warehouse.  Kids in Need offers volunteer opportunities for both groups and individuals.  Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to assist with this program.

Group volunteer opportunities:  Small groups of 5-12 volunteers (ages 16 and up) are needed to help with sorting and restocking inventory. Group volunteer projects can be scheduled Monday or Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Individual Volunteer opportunities: Individuals are needed as shopping assistants for teachers. Shopping Assistants are asked to make an ongoing commitment to a 3 hour shift either once a week or once every two weeks for one or more semesters.  There are two semesters each year, August - December and January - May. (Volunteers can start at any point during the school year.) Shifts run Mondays thru Thursdays, 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm, Tuesday or Wednesday evenings from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm and one Saturday per month from 8:45 to 12pm or 1pm – 4pm..
