Community Garden Market Co-op

Community gardeners can raise funds for their neighborhood projects and help others eat healthier by distributing some of their harvest through the Women, Infants and Children Nutrition Program (WIC)Farmer's Markets. Although the markets are tailored to WIC recipients, they are open to the public and all are welcome. The markets are open June through October, Wednesday mornings in Marietta and Thursday mornings in Douglasville. This project helps small community garden projects be self-reliant by providing a simple way to generate enough income to cover basic garden needs.

To make sure the Community Garden Market Co-op has enough fresh, local produce for the WIC Farmers Market, we grow about an acre of Certified Organic produce at the Hartnett Community Garden in Southwest Atlanta. We are certified through QCS, Inc and registered with the Georgia Department of Agriculture. Although organic certification is not required for the WIC Farmer's Market, we want to do everything we can to provide the safest, healthiest and tastiest food for the women and children who need our help.
