Chef Linda Harrell of Cibo e Beve is here to show us there is more to Italian zuppas (soups) than Minestrone!  Hearty and chock full of flavor, soups are a mainstay in Italian cooking.  As we head into fall, learn to make some authentic varieties that will be as satisfying on a chilly night with family as they are impressive for guests. During class Chef Harrel will show students how to make Tuscan Kale and Bean Soup; Pappa al Pomodoro (a tomato bread soup), and Smoked Sweet Potato Soup with crispy Prosciutto.

This annual black-tie party supports the Atlanta Apartment Association’s annual Food-A-Thon.  Evening includes live music, dancing, auction, great food and more!

The Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk & Fitness Program (KPCRW) is the largest workplace-organized health and wellness program in Atlanta starting with Get Active Atlanta!, a free 8-week training program and culminating in a 5K run/walk through downtown Atlanta. Since 2008, KPCRW company teams have donated more than 14,250 lbs. of food to the ACFB as part of the KP Corporate Can Contest.

Each May, the U.S. Postal Service and the National Association of Letter Carriers join together to “Stamp Out Hunger” and deliver millions of pounds of food to more than 200 Feeding America food banks.

Find ways to support ACFB through on-going giving and food collection campaigns with local Atlanta organizations. 

Inspired by scripture from the prophet Isaiah, “to share your food with the hungry”, Atlanta’s Jewish Community holds their metro-wide food drive each year during the High Holy Days. 

Outnumber Hunger is an initiative that makes it easy for people to join in the fight against hunger in their own communities.  Specially marked food packages direct consumers to enter codes online at www.OutnumberHunger.com to help Feeding America secure meals for the Atlanta Community Food Bank.  For every code entered by March 1, 2014, Outnumber Hunger will donate $0.65 – enough to secure five meals on behalf of local food banks. 

Each spring, Publix Super Markets customers can donate at the register to provide food for hungry families.  As a token of appreciation, customers making a donation will receive a special Food for Sharing reusable bag.

Music provided by the Ralph Roddenberry Duo for the afternoon. Come back for more music at 9 pm ($5 cover) for Hair of the Dog and Rolling Nowhere.
