Hailing from its original Charlotte, NC location and Charleston, SC, 5Church made a wise choice selecting James Beard award winner Chef RJ Cooper to helm its new Atlanta restaurant location. Having worked under Eric Ripert, Guenter Seeger and Gilbert LeCoze and with previous executive chef experience, RJ’s progressive style grounded in French cooking fundamentals showcasing local ingredients is the perfect fit. Chef Cooper will demonstrate how to prepare Mangalitsa Ham with sourdough and peach mostarda; Compressed Watermelon with heirloom tomatoes water, pickled rinds and Humboldt Fog cheese; Wreckfish with foraged mushrooms and Aussie truffle butter in paper; and Cornmeal Shortcake with bourbon pickled peaches and sweet cornn ice cream. Evening includes wine tastings and a chance to win tasty door prizes.
