Thanksgiving Dish 2007

Fox 5 Sports Anchor Karen Graham and Investigative Reporter Randy Travis teamed up for turkey duty with Executive Chef Rene Pax and Executive Sous Chef Michael Fakih.



It's been a tradition for nearly 10 years.

John Smoltz serves up a Thanksgiving meal.Two days before Thanksgiving, Atlanta Braves Pitcher John Smoltz is joined by media anchors and reporters from several local television stations and newspapers for a very important mission at the Waverly Renaissance Hotel Atlanta: to prepare more than 2,000 Thanksgiving meals for the hungry.

Snapping BeansWorking alongside Executive Chef Rene Pax and his team of Renaissance chefs on Tuesday, Nov. 20, they prepared 750 pounds of turkey, 300 pounds of green beans, 300 pounds of yams, 300 pounds of smashed potatoes, 100 pounds of cranberry sauce, 30 gallons of gravy and 200 pumpkin pies! The meals were provided that same afternoon to more than a dozen organizations that are participating agencies of Atlanta's Table, the prepared and perishable food rescue project of the Food Bank.
