A Few of our Favorite Things

The holidays are always a special time at the Food Bank, but this year had to be one of our most exciting! A visit from actor/writer/director Tyler Perry, an outstanding "Can Hunger" food drive at metro Kroger stores and the 99X Mistletoe Jam benefit concert at Gwinnett Arena were just a few of our favorite things rounding out a terrific 2007 and providing inspiration for 2008. Kick off 2008 with these Great Opportunities!
Want to win free tickets to the NHL All-Star Hockey game? Your chances are pretty good if you dine at South City Kitchen on Wednesday evening, January 16! For each canned good you donate that evening between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m., you can enter the drawing. There is no limit on the number of entries, so the more cans you bring the better your odds of winning. Click here for more details about the NHL All-Star raffle.
Weekday and evening volunteers are needed throughout January to help sort and pack grocery products at our Product Rescue Center. Click here to learn about our volunteer opportunities and how to schedule your shift.
If gardens are your thing, you can opt to lend a hand at the Atlanta Garden and Patio Show at Cobb Galleria February 7-10. Volunteers are needed to help set up and staff a special garden display showcasing our Community Gardens Project.
